  2. Allyson Says:

    Dear Mr.Butler,

My name is Allyson and my highschool is doing Phantom of the Opera as our spring play this year. Our drama department has been slowly going down hill since the collapse of our auditorium 6 or so years ago. But since then our auditorium has been rebuilt and is sooo much better, but we still don’t have much of a drama department. And I fear that our Phantom of the Opera is not going to be as good as it could be if more students were interested in the show. Let me just get to the point of my message. It would be soo great if you could pay a visit to my school. Thank you and I hope you read this message and decide to come.

    Sincerly,
    Allyson

  3. Marina Rice Says:

I absolutely love your work. You present as a dedicated actor with the ability to transform himself and wear the roles you play – both romantic comedy and action. You must get friendlier with Whitney Cummings, however. You two look perfect together and you both have an incredible sense of lightly self-depreciating humor! People gifted with such grace, humor and beauty have a responsibility to procreate! Think of the beautiful babies you two would make together and the wonderful company you would keep each other…hmmm.

  4. Ann Says:

    Hi Gerry,

‘P.S. I love you’ was on TV – so now I’ve seen 2 of your movies :) It was OK but in my opinion you can do A LOT better than that. Have to admit I read the book some years ago, which might explain the troubles I had with the movie. Ahern just doesn’t work with a nearly all american cast (nothing against Mrs. Bates though – love her) – is it really that difficult to find genuine english actors? It left me kind of hoping ‘Where Rainbows End’ (my CA-favorite) will never make it as a Hollywood project. Hmmm, maybe I should try and watch one of your movies a month. Wonder if I would be allowed to write my opinion on them. They’ll probably take me off-site for daring to criticize you – let’s find out :) Talk to you later – take care.

  5. Yuliya Says:

You will never read this e-mail and my words will be read by some other girls who are looking to meet with you or tell hoe they are in love.
Im not your fan and not in love. But I do like your movies.
The reason I write you is the latest list of the most handsome men in the world. With all my respect to David, whose fan i was for many years, i want to say that from long list of 20 or 25 men you shoud be #1. This is my opinion.
The reason is not in fame, glamour, money, friendship with stars and all those celebrities things to be proud of. It is in a true feeling of a man. We forget that there is nothing better than a real man who is yours and who is always near. For me you are an example of a person who symbolizes: strength, manhood, kindness, truth, faith……all that each woman needs…but doesnt meet in this world.

  6. Lisa Says:

You’re a terrific actor, and an even better fantasy. Thank you.

  7. Pia Phil Says:

I wonder what’s wrong with Hollywood film critics because your movie Machine Gun Preacher was not included in the top 10 or best films for 2011. So sad because your good acting and dedication to your job is not well recognized. Oh well, just continue with what you’re doing and maintain the good work.. your time to shine will come..and i hope it will be soon..

  8. Ann Says:

    Hi Gerry,

Hope you’re doing fine. Unlike the rest of your fans I’m not here to tell you how I love you as an actor and a person (would make me feel ridiculous since I’ve seen only 1 of your movies and don’t know you personally at all). However, I am a lost case when it comes to the depths of your speaking instrument. Now a voice like that could get me to bed anytime – to sleep OF COURSE (what did you think you cheeky bastard :) . Anyway, I’m trying to pick up my life again from where I left it a few years ago and apparently this includes writing my silly little comments to your fansite. This meaning that 1) He is moving in mysterious ways and in a while the purpose will be clear to me, or 2) I ‘m as nutty as a fruitcake (hope not, frankly). Gonna pack my bags now ‘cause tomorrow we’re off for a mini-ski-break. Yes, some of us do have a wonderful life :) Talk to you later – take care.

    Ann

  9. Paola Says:

    Hey honey
    How have you been?
Just passing by to tell you I loved the interview with Jay Leno. You really are a very special human being, beyond your fantastic “package”.
You ‘re always on my mind and in my heart.
    Sweet kisses
    Pao

  12. Lynne Watkins Says:

I just found this little ditty. I just finished watching Phantom of the Opera, I should say I’ve watched it at least 75 times. I love classical music and have developed a taste in Opera. But… your Phantom is totally awsome. “Music of the Night” WOW!!
Just a bit of fan appreciation. Glad you’re okay from your accident. I’ve been in your situation before and know how frighteneing it can be. Gotta watch those waves. My favorite films of yours are Beowolf, Dear Frannkie, and of course Phantom of the Opera. I’m looking forward to the new titles coming out this year.
    God Bless and Protect you.
    Lynne Watkins

  13. Michelle Larson Says:

My horoscope today said to go ahead and tell my secret crush that I like him so….here goes.
It cannot be hidden any longer. I like you…a lot.
It all started with ‘Dear Frankie’ and has escalated to when I saw you on Leno last week.
I am available so if you feel so inclined I guess I could fit a date in somewhere in my schedule.
    Take care.

  14. Mina Says:

Dear those who may tell Gerard just one sentence please… what would he do if he knew that there is one person who waits for a magic, waits for somebody special, somebody who looks for her as well, thinks and admires. Gerard even doesn’t know my country Azerbaijan, but may be he feels that somebody needs him very much. Needs him not for he is a great actor, not for he is famous and almost every woman is his fun. I just want him to know that I am here. And even if we’ll not meet I simply want him to know may be once he will feel me. My eyes in a darkness of a night, my tears in a rainy day, or my smile in a sunshine… Just simply let him know that he is loved, but not the one love that is mad, or a fantasy. Really how a person may love only an imagination. I just simply feel him, his a good man. He is a kind person, with a soft heart and of course he is a good son and brother. That’s all. Thank you for your humanity, understanding and responsiveness.

  15. Anabel Says:

    Hi Gerard,

I love all your movies, and I especially love the way you sing! I loved you in P.S I Love you, Dracula 2000, The Ugly Truth, and in my very favorite…. THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA!!!! You are a great actor and very handsome. Keep making more great movies for us (your fans) to enjoy. =)

    <3<3<3<3 Anabel <3<3<3<3

  16. Connie Says:

I know you get a lot of emails from women wanting to meet you. Just thought I’d say, love the crooked smile.

  17. Brittany Says:

    Hi Gerry,

All I would like to know is, how can I win a date with you? Perhaps tea or lunch? If are ever in DC, I’d love to meet you.

    Brittany

  18. Ana Says:

So,first at all i must say…WOOOW… i mean people…common… you all speak only about sleeping with someone..or be intimate…. so,i will just ignore the stupid comments..

  19. Scott Horton Says:

    Dear Gerry
My beautiful 8 year old nephew lost his battle with Leukemia eleven year ago. Jacob was such an amazing young boy. So talented and full of life. Everybody he came in contact with loved him with little effort. It just came so naturally. What was more amazing was the way his mother, my big sister Kim, fought along side of him until the absolute last second of his life. I love her strength and spirit. I acknowledge that amazing part of her every chance that i get. However, since the time of Jacob’s passing, a light went out in Kim’s heart. Understandably so. I’ve wanted to tell her story for so long because i know there are so many mothers and fathers and folks in general that can relate to this. I’ve read about the work you do for kids with cancer. I admire you so much for that gift. You are not caught up on the treadmill of fame and fortune. You clearly have compassion for these kids. You are a good man.
Would my nephew’s story be something your production company might be interested in exploring? I’m trying to get my sister back into the game of life. Thank you for your consideration.

    Peace
    Scott

  20. Sonia Says:

    Dear Mr Butler,

I believe I may have seen you in Trainspotting around 1996/1997 in Northampton – please can you confirm if you were on tour then? I’d be so excited if it was you (means I saw you naked – oops!)
    Love Sonia

  21. Igballe Nici Says:

Hi Gerald! I am perhaps the 6 miliard who have written to you. Think, you are great artist and very nice. Hope you are also a good person, has a good personality to complement you perfectly. Hope I have the opportunity to see you live sometime. Good luck.

  22. Medina Says:

Wow… I read all of these messages and am in awe of your fans. You are very fortunate to have such love and devotion. I cannot write or say anything that everyone else on this site has not already mentioned to you. What I can say is one of my dreams came true at TIFF wherein I got to photograph you. It was amazing. See I love photography but I am by far a professional. One day I would love to photograph you but not in aprofessional manner, more of when you are having down time and relaxed. Maybe one day that dream will come true. If you are ever in Toronto and wouldn’t mind my taking some pictures… drop me a line, I would love to scratch that dream off my bucket list. Thanks Gerry. All the best and enjoy your downtime which is well deserved. With love and admiration, Medina

Merry Christmas Mr Butler. May it be a peace filled and happy time. If you get bored I’ll be in Dublin for New Year’s. Planning on lots of Kilkenny and dancing. Cross your fingers for me as am meant to meet the man of my dreams there. I have the dress, the pub chosen and hopefully a seat by the fire. He’s meant to be a curly haired Celt that plays music. 4 Spiritualists have told me. I have come over from New Zealand for this. It’s taken me 4 years to pluck up the courage to go over. In Scotland at the moment. What a beauty of a place. Have a wonderful festive season with your pug. My beagle Arthur is back in NZ and I miss him dearly. Big fan of yours..keep up the good work. Love Emmie Rose

  46. M.A. Says:

Hey, I’m not your fan. Just one day I’ll probably want you to be shot in one of my films. Be careful with what u did on Sunday, December 18,2011. Yeah and one more, something tells me that in 2012 you will eventually fall in love and get married. So think twice before to risk, people might still need you.

P.S. Do not get it as a crazy idea. I’m serious.
    M.A.

  52. Gisela Says:

    Dear Gerard,

first of all, it’s still November… am I still in time to wish you happy birthday? ;-)

I hope you will continue to delight us with your performances and films for many and many years because there will always be a sleeping (I was about to write “beauty”, uhm, it’s not the case) like me that, almost five year after seeing “300″ sees by chance other of your works (in my case “A Law Abiding Citizen”) and wonders… “what the *** have I been doing all these years? Was I living in Mars?” so, please continue making movies, delighting us all with your performances, your kindness, your charm, and in the meantime I will commit myself to recover the time I lost.

I look forward to see you here in Italy for Muccino’s film.

    Kisses from Rome
    Gisela

May something, 2011, note of gratitude–shy and alittle unsure like most. Slightly apologetic. Forgive my transparency. Foolish trust.

28th of September, virtual touch, virtual smile.

3rd week of October, letter by post–is it possible these words have far-reachng wings?

November 23rd, this is the last place I might think to look too. But I have been singing alone for so long–realizing now that he is always where I last thought possible.

I am not a fan. I am just a woman.

Always been a fan…I just wish he was just a normal guy in this average town of mine and I met him and had a nice slow romantic dance. Fame is good at times but not so good at other times. I know, I have some famous people in my family. They don’t have lives and sometimes really miss out on the “right” relationships…plus their privacy is non-existant…anyway, love his acting and his accent…and if it were another time and place…I have no doubt…we’d have hit it off…too bad..he’ll never know… = )

  59. Billi Jo McQueen Says:

    Hello Gerard Butler,

I am a huge fan of your work. The most amazing role that i saw you in was the phantom of the opera. If I was the woman in that movie i would have loved you either way. Your roles are very inspiring in every aspect. My husband is also a fan of yours. The movie 300 and Beowulf & Grendul were is favorites. If you ever Decide to come to iowa Let me know. That would be a real experience for me to meet one of my favorite actors.

    Happy birthday unreachable man!!
I’m a scorpio too! It seems that we are definitly the best ever:) !
I’m a young sculptor, living in the south of France. I would have been pleased to do something for you.. (specially, i’ve done a few warriors and angels) but now that i’m looking your fan website, i feel so embarassed!!lol it seems that i’m not the only one ;-) , proposing that or présents and i guess there’s no hope to reach you even with good and decent intentions :)
Well! i congratulate you for your succes and playing so well. You definitely have a great presence and “puissance” (power?) beautiful eyes i guess reflecting a beautiful soul..you look like being a good man inside with a great heart..

but then you seem to be so unapproachable!
So i wish you for your birthday to find your soulmate!! Because that is the real succes!!! what i wish to myself either for my next birthday in a few days..(i should ask a genius wizardry if a found one!!)

Hello, Jerry! I’m glad to find Virtual Fan Male because I had been searching it for 2 months! My name is Nastya, I’m from Russia. I’m 17.

At first I’d like to say that you are really talented actor. It’s amazing to watch films with your participation. The first film that I saw was ”Dracula 2000”. The film is not really interesting BUT! for first role you were brilliantly! Also the films that I admire are: ”300”, ”Law abiding citizen”, ”Rocknrolla”, ”The Phantom of opera” and ”P.S. I love you”, of course!

Now I’d like to tell you something romantic. I’m shure that you heard it over 1 million times. But I think you are very handsome and clever man. I had seen a lot of your interviews and I understood that we have a lot in common. I think we could be good friends or maybe even a couple. Of course, if you lived in Russia. But in fact it’s impossible.

Finally, I want to wish you luck and happiness. I think you really need this :) Want you to find your real love and make us, your fans, happy of having little Kids Butlers :)

    Yours, Nastya.

The other reason why I would like you to win, my husband made a bet that if you win the BIG “O”, he will cook for me,,,and this is a VERY rare thing at our house! It will be fun for me if you do win, he doesn’t know that I would demand a gourmet meal out of it!…

So, if you’re not busy after your OSCAR win, would you like to dine with me and my 2yr old son? – hehe

    So then,

    Continue to tell me.

Tell me about the warm, humble home in the country

    Tell me about

    the music they make together,

the castles within your dreamscape, the horse wild in the meadow.

Show me why you do what you feel, how deeply you love, this fierce loyalty to the cause.

Let me into incantations kept silent. Be loud. Crush bones with intensity. Lift your heart up to my ear.

This isn’t about “who’s who”. I don’t care. Night visions have such power as to throw-over casual importance, inspiring rituals of abandoning sense and manners. I’d rather collide. Trust the message behind closed eyes.

    A heart asked.

Continue to tell me what you started to.

  109. GLENCOE LASSIE(SUE) Says:

GERRY, HOW’S IT GOING? I SEE THAT YOU ARE IN INDIANA AT THE MUNSTER FAMILY CHRISTIAN CENTER. I WISH I COULD BE THERE. HAS YOUR ROLE IN MGP GOT YOU THINKING ABOUT YOUR OWN IMMORTALITY? DO YOU KNOW FOR SURE THAT YOU WOULD GO TO HEAVEN WHEN YOU DIE?

THE BIBLE TELLS US HOW WE CAN BE CERTAIN AND KNOW FOR SURE. I’D LOVE TO DISCUSS IT WITH YOU SOME TIME.

SO YOU’RE ON A BREAK NOW? WHEN DO YOU RETURN TO SET AND FOR WHAT FILM?

  110. Amber Honey Says:

    Namaste Gerry,
I felt a connection with you after watching Phantom. You have an incredible voice and great talent. Then I watched Dracula 2000 and really loved you with long hair. We are close in age and my family is from Ireland. If, in your sleeping state you see a woman with light brown very long hair and green eyes, it is me. I have been working on OBE’s and you are whom I want to see. So I’ll see you then..

P.S. Thank You, for being a charitable man.
I tried putting together a motorcycle scenic ride, lunch, and meet and greet with residents of the senior care residence where I once worked, but for insurance purposes and the zoning officer of the town, it didn’t happen and to this day I feel bad about not doing it anyway. The ride was to benefit The Alzheimer’s Foundation. Maybe someday……

  114. Lucinda Says:

    Gerard,
It must be difficult being you. All these fans, and the roles you play, you are so, so busy. I bet sometimes it is nice just to be.
I pegged you as an English Bulldog kind of man, but “Lolita” is a heartbreaker. I have an English Bully, “Rocky”, he is a handfull, kind of like Craig Ferguson! HaHa

I daydream about Gerard Bulter walking through my door and singing to me. I loved him in The Phantom of the Opera, I loved him more in PS..I Love You. I think I just love him. It’s probably completey insane of me to love someone that I could only dream I would ever meet in person. But call me insane, because I am totally in love with this man.

  119. Julia Says:

Gerard, one word WOW! I just “discoverd” you with my odd urge for phantom of the opera (absolutly wonderful btw)! After watching phantom and thinking “oh wow who is the man behind the mask” i looked you up and saw who you “really” were i was thinking “this guy looks familiar”. Then i realized “omg this is the same guy who plays in PS I Love you!!” but anyway if you have a chance mail me back! Thank you for taking the time for reading this!

  120. Janna Says:

Thanks for all the charity work you do! Just saw the Celts vs Manchester article. It’s really inspiring that you participate and not just donate cash (nothing wrong in that). Your not just a pretty face after all.

    Cheers:)

  131. Peggy Says:

    Dear Gerry:

I watched the trailer for Coriolanus yesterday and, with this sort of promise, all I can say is WOW – it’s got Academy Awards written all over it.  It looks fantastic.  I saw another clip that includes the fight scene between Coriolanus and Aufidius.  The chemistry between Ralph Fiennes and you practically jumps off the screen!  I’m a bit of a Shakespeare nut, but, I’ve never read this play. Shame on me!  A lapse I will shortly cure.

I also watched the press conference, from Berlin I believe, and I would encourage everyone to do so. Very well done and impressive to see that much talent in one place!

I have watched you grow over the years.  One of the qualities that I have found most endearing about you is your refreshing honesty and enthusiasm. You have carried that with you from the beginning, and it obviously comes from the heart.

It has always seemed to me that those qualities spring from and are a  reflection of a strong sense of self or  perhaps personhood is a better word. And that too is somethIng that I’ve seen grow and have admired.

I think it takes a sort of fearless creativity to try your hand at many different kinds of projects, as you’ve done, and you have gotten more than your share of undue criticism for being a creative risk-taker.  Easier I suppose to find a comfortable niche, rather than exercising a different “muscle” as you have chosen to do in your role choices.  I really enjoyed listening to you explain why you have chosen to follow your unique artistic path during the press conference.  Good for you, Gerry.

At the same time, you always seem like a kid in candy store.  Like you can’t quite believe your good fortune. But you’ve EARNED your place at that table, with Ralph Fiennes and Vanessa Redgrave.  I’m sure you know this, and I have no expectation that you will ever see this post.  I am simply saying it because it is something that NEEDS to be said.

You were so gracious there in your comments about your fellow artists, and after listening to Vanessa Redgrave speak about her craft, I can see why you were so impressed.  I was practically speechless. Both Fiennes and Redgrave are creative risk-takers like you.  Another reason I expect Coriolanus to be a triumph!

Have to check out Machine Gun Preacher next.

All the best to you, Gerry!

    Luv ya,

    Peg

  132. Emelia Says:

Loved you in the Celtic Shirt and you looked really good along side Henrik Larson

  133. Oksana Says:

    Thank you, Gerard.

Well, now I have a dream: one day visit USA and get your autograph. :)
And your biography is a very good example for me. Maybe one day I try to release my old dream – to write books. You are strong person – throught all obstacle, you are a actor now. Best actor for million people.

I hope to see more new movies with you.

    P.S. Sorry for bad english.

  135. Marcela Murenková Says:

I am from Slovakia I like you Gerry :-)

  136. Eleonora Says:

Gerard Butler has got Hamlet’s charismatic appeal, Romeo’s romantic temperament, Othello’s passionate irrationality and Coriolanus’s heroic complexity. A very talented actor who delivers memorable performances.

  137. julie myers Says:

I don’t write this thinking that you spend any of your spare time reading these postings, but I think a lot of us write because this is how we can express our thoughts on what you and your movies have meant to us fans. You have such a presence on screen and we all have our reasons why you touch us. I think you have so many of the qualities that a woman yearns for in a man. We all have our secret dreams and desires and you just have that ability to touch how we feel. You are a man’s man but also boyish in some ways with so much energy. You have become quite famous with a whirlwind lifestyle traveling from coast to coast and abroad. I am sure it has its pros and cons and it has made it hard for you to live your day to day life and find someone that likes you for you and not you the actor. I hope you find that special person someday and have a family of your own if that is your desire. When I first became aware of you and started watching your movies, “Dear Frankie” was the one that really captivated me. Loved your short hair and even then you had a salt and pepper look going which I loved. As your fame continues to grow I hope that you continue to be just who you are. Looking forward to seeing more dramatic roles such as MGP. As I write this, you are looking very trim which I hope is for an upcoming movie because there is a part of me that wants to sit you down and give you a good home-cooked meal and put a little bit of bulk back into you. I am a good cook and there is always room at my dinner table. I’m sure my husband wouldn’t mind. Love your hulkiness in past movies. Just some thoughts from a fan in Central Illinois to my favorite Scottish actor.

  138. Marilyn Anne Huddleston Says:

Of course your fans are crazy about you, what’s not to love? You are the only other man on this earth that ever turned my head! God blessed you with the talent and ability to touch your fans in such a way as to lure them in no matter which movie you choose to become a part of. Congratulations! Your sacrifice and hard work have paid off! May God continue to Bless You! Oh, and “P.S. I Love You!”

  139. TAMI Says:

Gerard…I may be one of your oldest fans, at 65; but I was just watching Phantom of the Opera, on HBO and I could not help being impresses by the power of your voice. I love to sing myself; and appreciate someone who can sing well. You should incorporate singing more in your future endeavors; possibly on Broadway. Best of Luck!!!

  144. Kristie Says:

    Hey Ger,

I’ve met you a few times and your so handsome, and a true gentleman. Your a fantasy to me, a prototype to the man of my dreams, the man that’s tall dark, handsome, and has a hot accent. Educated, funny, compassionate, kind, and naughty.
Thanks for being so kind, and for entertaining the world with your various talents. I wish you nothing but the best, and I hope that you find True Love one day, with someone that will never break your heart or leave you, a mother to your children. If that’s what you want, if you want to be another George Clooney that’s your choice as well.
Your so lucky to be so talented and to have switched from one great career to something that your truly love doing. And to have kicked so many habits, your a very strong person to have over come two habits that are very hard to break. Be good to yourself, take time out to breath and live in the moment. Also try not to make the pap your enemy cause those guys are loco.
As for me I’ll enjoy watching your movies for many years to come, and I’ll be pushing ahead to achieve my goals, your an inspiration.

May the road always rise you to meet your feet

I’ m still dreaming about the day we will meet, it would be like winning the lottery
That day my life as I know it would end!

    Love ya

    Paola

  148. Kimberly M. Says:

  159. Ingun Says:

I went to Lakeside years ago on my way to bonny Scotland and I had the most weird dream. It was quite historical with an ancient table. I never forgot it and it followed me all of my life. Maybe this was the reason I could never really settle. Next year or the year after, I’ll be going back to Scotland. Maybe then I’ll be returning home forever. Enjoy!

  160. liza Says:

  161. Carolyn Says:

I wonder if your other fans have the collection I have: magazines, DVDS, pictures and theater stubs going back years. I’ve been a fan since Timeline. I thought you looked terrific in Attila but Phantom was the best. I love your NY loft… I have a copy of the Architectual Digest. There is a family joke about my groopie fanship: The day PS I Love You was released, I had plans to go with my sister and the movie didn’t start until 1 p.m. My sister loves to tell everyone that I was showered, dressed and had make-up on and waiting by the door at 9 a.m. I actually was ready at noon, but for me that was early. (This was in Garner, NC) I now live in New Smyrna Beach, Fl.

  162. Vish Says:

    Hey Gerry,
Im from India, i know you must be having thousands , millions of fans. but i really do admire the spark i your eyes the way you pout and yes of course you deep voice. have enough reasons to fall in love with you.

    Will u marry me?

    PS I LOVE U :-(

  163. Thacia Says:

I have never sent a message to an actor or actress, because I don’t see the point in talking to a middle man. Anyways, just wanted to say hello to the man that makes me laugh.
It would be nice to sit over a cup of coffee, trade stories, and see who could make who laugh more, but I know you are quite busy. It’s just that sometimes I wonder about the man behind the public persona.
And I am just an ordinary person whom, I know, will become just another anonymous comment on a website.
Take care, sir. May your future be as successful and satisfying as your past.

    A Future Friend (LOL)

  164. Pia Phil Says:

  166. Nick Ames Says:

Gerard IS a Lucky Fellow! A Man’s Man AND the Ladies are Wild about him. A Natural Actor who can do High Drama and Comedy with seeming Ease?! I should be Jealous! I’ll always think of him as Leonidas though. I’ve got to study up on how it is that the UK and Ireland produce so many Great Actors and Actresses, whom you WOULD follow into Hell when they’re in Warrior roles?!

  167. Katherine allen Says:

  171. marinella D'Antoni Says:

Hi!I’m 41 e I haven’t ever tried to get in contact with a famous person, I know they don’t give a shit to fans, but I hav e to try..you have a strange effect on people: you are human and spontaneous and people feel you are one of us. I am the same age of you I like running , I love dogs (I live with two of them), I am single and preatty, but I can’t sing. It’s the only thing that we don’t have in common.. well …if I don’t consider the economic situation.
By the way , my name is Marinella, I am italian, I live not far from Venice and the austrian border, not such a nice place as Scottland. I took my degree in Political Scinece and now I work at the University of Udine in international reserch projects’ administration. Whatever, if you liked to meet me, we could arrange to meet each other somewhere. I am a nice person, can’t belive I am still single. I think men are afraid of me, but I don’t know why.

  176. Maristel Says:

    Dear Gerry:

I just want to tell you, that I love your work, passion, commitment and devotion you put in every character you play, and I hope that many of your fans can see, like I see, the way you appropriate and transform in each of them, so much that when I watch one of your movies, I can barely recognize Gerry Butler, but I can to get to know: Phantom of the Opera, King Leonidas, Beowulf and many others.
You make me laugh, cry and dream, I thank you for that, God bless you.

  177. Melissa Says:

    Dear Gerard,
I have a 20th high school reunion coming up in august that i will not be attending. I am a fat loser with few friends, no husband, no kids, live in an apt, crap job..basically nothing to “brag” about at a reunion, let alone a milestone one! However, if you’re going to be in the upstate ny area on aug 6, 2011, I might let you come as my date! Heck, i’ll even pay for your ticket…a whopping 50 bucks, and i won’t even make you put out after! How’s that Gerry? Would you like that? Oh and if you can’t make it, i’m not going, but no pressure big guy. PS..I LOVE YOU! ;) ~ (a little nod to my FAVORITE movie…seen it at least 25x and still cry every time)!

  178. Heather Pendergast Says:

    Gerry,

What has been following me around since I was a little girl is this persistent dream and memory of reuniting with that “one” who I know I will recognize again (and him, me) in this lifetime– during every life challenge and relationship, this memory has been my reference point, “Will I follow my heart in this moment or compromise my dream?” I know when I follow my heart’s dream, I feel both foolish and brave at the same time. I feel alive. And I feel closer and closer to whoever this person is.

I have to play with all of the possibilities.

There hasn’t been a man yet who has mirrored this clear-felt memory in my body so unapologetically as how I perceive you. As elusive as this dream seems to be so far, the sense in my body is strong—your essence stirs me awake, making it impossible to settle for less when I meet it in another; Intense and earthy, sensitive, passionate, fiery and authentic, drawing up from inside of me what is all-consuming, safe, feminine, enduring and committed. Because of this gift you unknowingly give to me, I know not to ever compromise the dream again by being with a man who does not naturally and effortlessly draw up these same feelings within me. Wildly.

I don’t know you from a hill of beans. And I acknowledge the mysterious and powerful role you play in my life so that I continue to stay true to my heart. Thank you.

    ~Thank you~

    Most Sincerely,

You never saw me, but you will recognize me in a million of faces, you never spoke to me but you know my voice, because every night when I go to sleep it is a time when I come to you with the first ray of sun and whisper into your ear “Honey, wake up…”

And the World’s Loveliest Voice Award goes to…(drumroll, please) Gerard Butler! Yes, you are still my Angel of Music. It’s too bad this award is only certified by me!

Oh, Gerard, could you look any more charming in your pictures? I’m a fan of your hair style ;) I’ve always liked it dark but I think it looks nice longer and blonder.

I’ll send you a letter soon! I’m still trying to write down everything that makes me adore you.

Ah, I’ve stayed up too late looking at pictures of you and writing this message. That’s okay, though, haha. Goodnight! Sweet dreams!

  184. JoAnn Armstrong Says:

    Gerard,

Please keep the bloodline going. I mean look for a Scottish or Irish girl if you’re looking at all. from one Scotsman to another, please remember your heritage. Don’t fall for someone from an entirely different country. Hope to see you soon in many new movies, especially with longer hair and a little dirtier. What a hunk!

    Love Ya,
    Jo
