This is my fifth favorite Action/Historical that Gerard has made. One word: Dragons
Aside from that I liked this movie because I liked the whole idea that even though society has fallen because of this natural disaster people are still trying to survive honestly and preserve their history and how they use modern day mythology that is based on the archetypes to teach the children about good and evil and doing the right thing. This is best illustrated in a very funny scene of Quinn, the leader and his second in command Creedy doing a scene from The Empire Strikes Back. LOL That is one of my favorite scenes. This movie was a lot of fun with the effects and the performances, except Matthew McConaghey doing his best Col. Kilgore imitation. He should leave that to Robert Duvall since Duvall originated that character and did it best.
i enjoyed this film and thought that gerry and christian worked well together, and i hope they can work again in the future. the star wars sketch was very funny. i thought that gerry was the true hero in the end, as he gave up his life to protect the others left behind.
