Charity Efforts/Events

Every year the fans who visit GerardButler.Net donate so much to help support the costs of running this website, we always had funds left over to donate to charity. Over the last two years, we expanded our charity efforts to include campaigns for Valentine’s Day and Gerard’s Birthday along with regional and international events. We are extremely proud of the willingness of our visitors to contribute to a wide range of charities across the globe.

In 2007, our US charity convention committee established a 501(c)(3) organization to benefit our official convention.  The charity is now known as the Gerard Butler Dot Net Charity Group and all our campaigns and CafePress purchases now benefit this non-profit group.  Read more about our non-profit group.

Click here for a look at what charities have benefited from the generosity of Gerard’s fans.

As of October 29, 2008, Gerard’s fans have raised over $274,589.78 for a variety of charitable causes!!

While GB.Net supports many, many charities worldwide, a common question from visitors are about the charities Gerry himself supports. The two charities below are supported by Gerry. One is based in the United Kingdom and the other in the United States.

Kids Kicking Cancer

Gerard Butler Dot Net Charity Group is proud to have Kids Kicking Cancer as our patron charity.  Many of our official events and campaigns directly benefit KKC.  For more information on Kids Kicking Cancer, visit our information page with the latest news and video about the organization, our activities and Gerry’s support.

CLIC SargentCLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity. We provide the widest range of services and the highest number of care professionals to look after children and young people with cancer and their families. Our services are tailored to family-needs, using feedback from our service-users.

As advocates we give children, young people and their families a strong national voice, helping them to be heard and understood. Our research looks at ways of improving treatment and managing side-effects, to help patients and to improve quality of life for survivors.

CLIC Sargent was formed in 2005 after a successful merger between CLIC and Sargent Cancer Care for Children. Both had a rich history of excellent care and support and together we are stronger and more effective providing more for more children and young people with cancer and their families.

Below you will find a history of charitable efforts to date, both in Gerard’s honor and the efforts of individual fans. If you are interested in participating in future worthwhile events, are planning one yourself, or can donate and support those who are participating, send us an email at
