Thank you to everyone who attended our 2009 Gerard Butler Dot Net Global Birthday Celebration events in Glasgow, Tokyo, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, Seattle and online!! Early reports from Japan, New York and online has our charity total close to $10,000! As the other cities report in we will update that total. Many, many thanks for all your generosity and support. Special thank you to all the online attendees who joined us in GBGF’s chatroom. It was a lot of fun to see old and new names!!
MESSAGES FROM GERRY: Gerry kindly recorded four messages for fans in Tokyo, Glasgow, the US cities and fans who joined online for a virtual celebration. Highlights of the messages included the news that Gerry hopes to return to Japan early next year to promote his films and that the European Law Abiding Citizen premiere will be held in Glasgow (on November 15 – other details coming soon)!! NEXT PROJECT FOR EVIL TWINS?
Film School Rejects asked Gerard in a recent interview what was up next for Evil Twins and his response is below:
There’s a few different projects that we’ve been working on, but there’s one in particular – it’s a movie called Slide about a former baseball player who goes back to try and patch things up with his child and estranged wife and ends up coaching the kid’s baseball team. He becomes the subject of fascination and longer by every bored house wife in the town. And it’s him trying to survive that while trying to patch things up with his kid. I think we’re going to have GM direct the movie. Hopefully. We’re in talks with him, and he’s very much up for directing it so we’ll what happens there.

Gerard Butler has been added to the list of possible nominees for Best Action Star in the People’s Choice Awards. The Ugly Truth is also on the list for Best Comedy. These votes are for the nominations, not the winners, so it’s important to vote at this stage of the awards process. You may also write in nominees, so consider writing in Law Abiding Citizen for movie and Gerard for Best Comedy Star (for The Ugly Truth). it is great as gerry will always go that one step further and help people as much as he can. i listened to all the messages across the globe, accept one, the us one i couldnt receive. they were all so heartfelt from gerry and you could tell from his voice how touching and appreciative he was from the fans doing this for him and the kids. he is such an emotional person, and human, and that is why his has so many fans that support his causes, as they believe in him so much as an actor and ordinary person. its just that now gerry has this lovely amount of attention he can bring things he believes in passionately to the surface and get support for them from various avenues. it only takes a little bit of his time to make someone day.

Where is the birthday card screen to send Gerry a birthday greeting? I wanted to see how much of what I wrote got accepted into it. I should probably rewrite an entirely new greeting, but I feel stupid just gushing over an actor. Please RSVP. Thank you.

Ladies in Japan, what a beautiful convention you had! Your pictures are gorgeous!
I hope everyone (event cities and virtual) had a great convention and really had a great party.
All of Gerry’s messages were beautiful, that was so kind of him to do that.
Great news about LAC weekend #’s and that Gerry won the Hollywood Film Festival best male star. Congratulations Gerry!

I am proud to be part of this great group of Gerry fans. It is heart warming to see the money raised for cancer kids. I lost a daughter to cancer so know the devastation it causes.

Thanks so much to GBnet for posting Gerry’s messages, especially on the live chat forum for those online party people who couldn’t attend the cons. Also thanks to Gerry for taking the time out to record those messages for us, we know that you have not stopped working all this year and must be exhausted, so thanks for making the effort as always.
