An Aberdeen teenager found herself mixing with Hollywood hopefuls and stalwarts of the American film industry in Scotland last week.
Aspiring performer Katrina Innes, of Craigiebuckler Place, Countesswells, was nearly stage struck when she met the widow of musical legend Gene Kelly during a visit to the Scottish Youth Theatre in Glasgow.
The 18-year-old was among a group of students who met Patricia Ward Kelly. The celebrity gave advice on furthering their careers as well as entertaining them with anecdotes about her late husband.
Then Gerry's GALS, the American fans of the actor and ex-Scottish Youth Theatre participant Gerard Butler, stopped by to personally hand over money they had raised for the theatre on his behalf.
Katrina, who is soon to star in Scottish Youth Theatre's new musical, Geordie, said the occasion had been "pretty mind-blowing".
She asked: "Where else would you meet Gene Kelly's widow one minute and the official American fans of Gerard Butler the next?"
Katrina added: "I have always enjoyed my involvement with Scottish Youth Theatre and this day has probably been one of the best experiences with the company so far."
Mr Butler, who is best known for his starring role in The Phantom of the Opera, said: "Scottish Youth Theatre provides a unique opportunity for young people across Scotland and is a stepping stone to the unimaginable.
"It all begins by taking part. It is amazing that as the result of what I do I am in a position, through the generosity and support of fan-sites like the GALS, to benefit Scottish Youth Theatre and the work it has done with young Scots for 30 years."
