Peace and Community Development Alliance of Healdsburg Presents:

The Game of Their Lives

The film is a true story of the 1950 United States Men's World Cup Team. When the United States was invited to play in the World Cup in 1950 there was no team to accept the invitation. Soccer was not yet popular in the United States, except amoung recent immigrants. The story of the struggle to put togeter a soccer team in short order from the various ethnic communities in the United States is a story worth seeing. It is a story that is being repeated today amoung young women in BiH as they try to bring together soccer players from various ethnic groups. In BiH it is more that just creating teams, it is an attempt to create peace and tolerance amoung ethnic groups that suffered war and genocide only a short time ago.

PACDA is sponsoring a benefit for youth soccer in The Federation of Bosnia i Herzegovina (BiH). Proceeds will go to Budimo Aktivni, the organization that has been foremost in promoting women's soccer and the training of girls in BiH.
