Warner Bros has released the fourth video journal for their upcoming adaptation of the Frank Miller graphic novel 300.
While the last video journal showed us the pain that the actors must go through in order to have a soldier's physique, the latest diary shows the wardrobe used to cover that same physique up.
300 Video Journal- Spartan Wardrobe
The latest video diary for 300 not only gives us a sneak peak at some of the characters for the upcoming film 300 but also shows the time and work that goes into creating the little details such as earrings and other jewelry. For that we meet Michael Wilkinson, the costume designer working on set for 300. According to Wilkinson, the costumes in the film are going to look as close to the comicbook as possible and, anytime he has doubts on a particular look, all he has to do is look at the drawn up storyboards from Frank Miller's graphic novel to remind him which direction he's heading.
One of the harder aspects to the costume design for 300 is the fact that most of the soldiers uniforms are expected to deteriorate throughout the battle. Therefore, it is also Wilkinson's job to create multiple capes and other costume adjustments that fit what we'd expect of a soldier who just fought an enormous battle. In the case of Spartan King Leonidas (Gerard Butler), he will have seventeen different helmets that represent each stage of deterioration.
Though some may not find wardrobe to be an exciting topic to cover, there is also tons of footage from filming on set. And, just for a bit of a kicker, we get to see a lot of David Wenham (Faramir, Lord of the Rings: Return of the King), who will play Dilos in 300.

300 will come to theatres some time in 2007 (TBA).
