Sin City producer Frank Miller is back with an epic remake of his latest graphic novel, 300.
"It's just an awesome story, and it's kick ass entertainment, you know?" - Gerard Butler

The film tells the story of the Spartans who died valiantly defending Greek values of freedom and justice.

Some parallels have already been drawn between the film's ancient battle scenes and the closer-to-home war in Iraq.

But the film's star, Gerard Butler says that was not the movie's intention. "People can say what they want, but it's not why the film was made.

"The film was made because it's an awesome story, and people should just stop and think and realise it's just an awesome story, and it's kick ass entertainment."

And Frank Miller, the man behind it all, seems to think those searching the flick for a deeper meaning will not find one. He said: "No, it's an eternal story, and actually, you could fit it into contemporary politics, but why start making it boring?"

The film is released in cinemas across the UK on the 23rd of March.
