Bring your tissues if you plan to see the year's biggest tear-jerker! Hilary Swank gives a million-dollar performance as Holly, a woman forced to deal with the death of her beloved husband Gerry (Gerard Butler). Before his death Gerry arranges for her to receive a series of letters he'd written, which he hoped would help her move on with her life.
Despite the tragic nature of the film's premise, there's something uplifting and insightful in this exploration of grief and loss. In spite of its well-trodden theme, this film tries to avoid the cliches.
