Certificate 15 Director Guy Ritchie Starring Gerard Butler, Thandie Newton, Jeremy Piven, Tom Wilkinson, Gemma Arterton, Idris Elba, Toby Kebbell, Tom Hardy, Jimi Mistry
Whatís it all about? Guy Ritchie goes back to his Lock, StockÖ roots with this London gangster drama.
Gerard Butler and Idris Elba star as canny criminals who get involved in a web of double-crossing involving a corrupt accountant (Newton), a missing crackhead pop star (Kebbell), a vindictive crime lord (Wilkinson) and a lot more besides.
Can they find a stolen painting and come out on top?
Whatís good? This is fast-paced and full of familiar faces. Itís a witty, action-packed return to form for Ritchie Ė perhaps not hard after the likes of Swept Away.
The plotís fun, Gerard Butler and Thandie Newton are simmering with sexual tension, and the film is littered with gorgeous blokes. Look out for rising star Tom Hardy in his role as Handsome Bob.
Whatís bad? The story gets muddled in places, and some of the acting is a tad wooden. Jimi Mistry is well off form. And, as usual, the violence is on the OTT side.
OK! verdict: A ramshackle but enjoyable London-set crime drama.
