Shooting is scheduled to begin in January and the producers are in talks with Brett Ratner, Todd Phillips, Office Space director Mike Judge and Blades Of Glory co-directors Josh Gordon and Will Speck, among others. A complete list of talent will be announced shortly.
Overture will handle domestic distribution while A Bigger Boat's sales partner GreeneStreet Films International (GSFI) will handle overseas sales. John Penotti will produce and Tim Williams will serve as executive producer for GreeneStreet.
"This project is different than anything I've ever been involved with and it is exciting to be able to collaborate with so many great film-makers," Farrelly said. "This is going to be a big party."
"I am most excited about our world-class ensemble of film-makers who will bring their own unique vision to each piece," Wessler said. "Many have had giant hits and we also have brilliant up-and-coming writers and directors from the US, Australia, the UK and Sweden. Yeah Sweden."
"We are very excited to join Pete and Charlie, two film-makers who have become synonymous with groundbreaking, modern comedy," Penotti added. "This project is a perfect vehicle for the breadth of their comedic taste and the wide net they cast, both with top comedic talent and the next generation of comedy stars.
"It is also with great pleasure that we are able to partner with Overture. We believe the team, led by Chris McGurk, Danny Rosett and Peter Adee, singularly understand both the comedic potential of the film and the broad marketing and distribution opportunities."
Farrelly and Wessler are long time collaborators and worked together on many Farrelly Brothers comedies including There's Something About Mary, Dumb And Dumber and Shallow Hal.
