Variety to Host Its Second Annual Screening Series Presented By MoviefoneŽ and Sponsored by Dell, Intel, Kodak, and Lexus

On Thursday, September 23, 2004, following the incredible success of last year, Variety began its 2nd annual screening series scheduled to run through the end of December. Presented this year by Moviefone, and sponsored by Dell, Intel Corporation, Kodak, and Lexus, Variety will host an extraordinary lineup of highly anticipated films. The series kicked-off with The Motorcycle Diaries followed by: Around the Bend, The Machinist, I Heart Huckabees, Being Julia, Stage Beauty, P.S., Ray, Alfie, Sideways, Alexander, Birth, Kinsey, The Incredibles, Finding Neverland, Beyond the Sea, The Phantom of the Opera, Closer, A Very Long Engagement, The Life Aquatic, De-Lovely, Spanglish, Hotel Rwanda, The Sea Inside, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Upside of Anger, The Woodsman, and The Aviator.
The films will be screened at one of two state-of-the-art theaters, Pacific's Arclight, or The Grove. Each screening will be followed by a question and answer session moderated by either Peter Bart, Variety's Vice President and Editor-in-Chief; Tim Gray, Variety's Executive Editor; or Pete Hammond, Film Reviewer and Historian.
The series showcases an abundance of talent and embraces all facets of filmmaking, honored by such Q&A guests as Billy Crudup, Kevin Bacon, Annette Bening, Kevin Spacey, Oliver Stone, Joel Schumacher, and many others.
The Variety Screening Series is by invitation only.
