LONDON-born DJ and music producer Mark Ronson is the latest big name to join this year's Rock Ness. Fresh from working with Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen, the co-founder of Allido Records will perform with his new live band on Sunday, June 10, prior to arena headliners Daft Punk. New York-based Ronson - No6 in the charts with his take on The Smiths' Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before - will play tracks from his album Version, out on April 16. The Bees and The 1990's were also confirmed to play yesterday.

THE Kaiser Chiefs may be world famous but it still doesn't get them special privileges at the cinema. fThe boys are in Washington DC and, before playing a sell-out gig, fancied a bit of sightseeing then a trip to the IMAX cinema - but were left disappointed. Drummer Nick Hodgson said: "We saw Capital Hill, the White House, a massive Abe Lincoln statue and war memorials. But there was great disappointment when me and Ricky were denied entry to Sharks 3D at the IMAX cinema because it was sold out."

GERARD BUTLER has thanked his fans for keeping him level-headed. The Scots star of new movie 300 said: "There's a lot of stuff in my head, 'What am I doing? I'm an imposter, You're sh*t, you're sh*t.' You go between that and, 'I am God.' Not quite, but there is an extreme fluctuation, so knowing people support you and care enough to give you advice is amazing."
