Category: Phantom of the Opera News Posted by: admin Hold onto your masks, Phantom phans! The first trailer of Warner Brothers' eagerly anticipated December film is finally in theaters and it's a dizzying doozy. This sneak peek is a rapid-fire minute-long montage of images of the film set to that organ-fueled Andrew Lloyd Webber overture. Since the trailer doesn't take time to breathe, it's hard to get a real feel for Joel Schumacher's adaptation, but it does look extremely faithful to the show, offering glimpses of every character as well as expanded offerings like the exterior of the Paris Opera House, the “Masquerade” New Year's Eve sequence and some luscious onstage opera sequences. There's even a shot from the point of the view of the falling chandelier!

If you want to see the trailer for yourself, check out Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11 (which you should see anyway) or the tearjerker The Notebook, as it's playing before both films in most theaters. I recommend you see it on a big screen, but you can also find it online. The Phantom of the Opera, which has already earned a PG-13 rating, will open in select cities on December 3. That's only 23 weeks away!
