CONNOLLY HAS A GREAT TIME IN HIS NEW MOVIE

BILLY Connolly is having the time of his life on his latest movie.

The Scottish superstar is playing a modern history professor, who ends up stranded in 14th century France. He joins a host of British stars, including Anna Friel and her partner, David Thewlis, in Timeline.

The time-travel Paramount movie is based on the best-selling thriller by Jurassic Park author and ER creator Michael Crichton.

A spokesman for the studio says that Connolly stars in the film, currently shooting in Montreal, Canada, as Professor Edward Johnston who is posted missing during an archeological dig at a medieval site in France.

The role reunites the 59-year-old Glaswegian comic with fellow Scot Gerry Butler, who made his film debut as Connolly's brother in Mrs Brown.

Directed by Richard Donner, best known for the Lethal Weapon series, the plot focuses on a group of archaeologists and students working on a French dig who find themselves whisked back through the ages.

Anna, 25, plays Lady Claire, a 14th century heroine whom the students meet during their time travels in the GBP 60million adventure.
