'Field,' 'Gone,' 'Zodiac' added to slate

BERLIN -- German distrib Splendid Film has bolstered its 2012 lineup with a slew of recent pick-ups, including Gabriele Muccino's romantic comedy "Playing the Field," starring Gerard Butler, and Heitor Dhalia's thriller "Gone," with Amanda Seyfried.
Splendid also nabbed Simon West's "Medallion," starring Nicolas Cage as a former thief searching for his kidnapped daughter, Timo Vuorensola's sci-fi laffer "Iron Sky," and Jackie Chan actioner "Chinese Zodiac."

Earlier this year Splendid announced the acquisition of Sylvester Stallone actioner "Expendables 2" and Kim Jee-Woon's "The Last Stand," which initially had Liam Neeson attached and later Arnold Schwarzenegger, who subsequently put his career on hold in the wake of personal problems.

The distrib also acquired a number of international titles for home entertainment release, among them Chan's historical epic "1911: The Revolution," about the founding of modern China; Alejo Mo-Sun's "Hirokin"; 3D animated film "Seafood"; fantasy actioner "Vikingdom"; "Paladin: The Dragon Warrior"; "Yamada: The Samurai of Ayothaya"; and horror comedy "Deadheads."
