THE BRICKLAYER

Gerard Butler is attached to star as Steve Vail in the adaptation of the Noah Boyd novel The Bricklayer, the first project for Millennium Films since Mark Gill took over as president, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In The Bricklayer, the main character, Vail, is a rogue former FBI agent, working as a Chicago bricklayer, whom the agency reaches out to help track down and combat a criminal group that is demanding an escalating series of multi-million dollar ransom payments.

Kids Kicking Cancer Campaign
Two more recipients have been chosen from the list of donation receipts submitted in our Kids Kicking Cancer charity campaign, which ends February 13.  Congratulations to Krista B. from Jarrettsville, MD (article of Gerry’s clothing) and Teresa G. fro San Antonio, TX (future movie premiere invite)!!

To date, over $41,000 has been raised from over 1039 donation receipts submitted!!  Thank you for all the support!! It’s not too late to send in your donation receipts!  If you are mailing a check, it much be RECEIVED before February 14, so get it in the mail early.

Gerard Butler Featured in Watchmen - Tales of the Black FreighterWarner Home Video has released details of the companion DVD, Tales of the Black Freighter, to Zack Snyder’s Watchmen.  The DVD is scheduled for release on March 24, 2009.  Watchmen will be released in theaters March 6.  Gerard lends his voice to the Black Freighter animated feature which is the story within the story of Watchmen.  Pre-order details are not yet available from Amazon.com, but for more details on the DVD features read more here.

In the good news department for Law Abiding Citizen, Overture Films has finalized an agreement to release LAC  from Mark Gill and Neil Sacker’s Film Department in 2010.  Read more…

The movie has also added another member to their cast.  Oscar nominee Viola Davis has  joined the cast (another Oscar nom/winner to add to Gerard’s impressive “one degree of Oscar” resume! :D ).  The announcement was made by Overture Films’ CEO Chris McGurk and COO Danny Rosett along with Mark Gill and Neil Sacker of The Film Department.

“What a fantastic cast,” said McGurk. “We are thrilled to partner with The Film Department on such an intriguing project and hope this is just the beginning of a long and successful relationship.”
