2008 BIRTHDAY CHARITY CAMPAIGN

The Gerard Butler Dot Net Charity Group is sponsoring this years birthday charity campaign to benefit Kids Kicking Cancer!  Our goal is modest this year and ALL donations contributed are tax deductible.   Thanks so much to those who have already donated!!  The campaign will go through December 31.   Click here to learn more and donate!

CHARITY COOKBOOK
For the past three years, we have sponsored a charity cookbook comprised of recipes submitted by YOU, the fans.  This year is no different.  The theme this year is Party Favorites.  Hors d’oeuvre, cocktails, dips, finger foods, sweets and snack mixes are the categories.  Submissions will be taken until November 14. The cookbook will be available for purchase shortly after Thanksgiving.  For each cookbook purchased, the buyer will be eligible for a drawing to win a special Gerard Butler gift pack, to include an autographed item from Gerry! Entry forms will be in the cookbooks once purchased. The drawing will be held January 15, 2009.

A test screening of Game was held in California this past Wednesday.  Early reviews have been posted in our news database.

THE UGLY TRUTH

The official website for The Ugly Truth has been launched by Sony Pictures.  Worldwide release dates are listed on the site and you can register to receive movie updates on their site.

INTERESTED IN BEING A REGULAR CONTRIBUTOR TO GB.NET?
GB.Net is a full time job that a few of us work on daily.  Thanks to the wonderful people who help in maintaining our gallery and news section (Gieselle, Maryp, DaisyMay and Stagewomanjen), things run smoothly, but we still have a few areas we could use some help in.  If you are computer savvy and want to help with things like maintaining the TV/Event calendar, fan list, our MySpace (experience with MySpace required) and assist in composing the monthly newsletter, send us an email to gb.net @ gerardbutler.net (remove the spaces around the @ before send the email) to be considered.  No membership on any forum or list required.

We always get more volunteers than we need when we ask for assistance, so thanks in advance for understanding if we don’t have spots for everyone, but double thanks for volunteering in the first place!!

We’re here in room 32AB at the San Diego Convention Center and have just been treated to some preview footage from Game presented (after throwing out the first bum DVD) by directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor.

The clip was full of action and had short interview clips with Gerry, Amber Valletta, Terry Crews and other cast members.

Gerry praised Neveldine and Taylor as “sick, but genius” and praised their ‘innate magical ability to create these concepts” like people hanging on meat hooks.

They footage was action packed with glimpses at Gerry in action as the slayer Kable.
